ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP
Ministry Description
FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, TACOMA, WA.

A Short Introduction to Faith Community Church:
All churches desire to be known for their love, but this is genuinely one of the most striking features of Faith Community Church. There is a humble sense of gratitude for the grace that has been showered upon our broken humanity through Christ and there is an openness to share that grace with others. We are a small church of 100+ who are being discipled in weekly small groups and come together every Sunday to serve, give and be renewed through corporate worship. Our Senior Pastor has been at the church for over ten years and there is a high degree of unity and focus upon our mission. You can learn a little more about who we are and what we believe at www.fccspanaway.org
Weekly Hours: 10-15 hours a week.
Qualifications:
·       Testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ accompanied by a life that has consistently demonstrated growth, obedience, and commitment to developing your personal devotional life with Jesus.
·       Have the personal character, lifestyle, family life, and emotional health as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
·       Have a heart for the unsaved, un-churched, and Christians who are at various stages of recovery from their pasts.
·       Worship leadership experience is essential, and further Biblical training is a plus.
·       Agreement with and supportive of the doctrinal statement of Faith Community Church.

Ministry Description:
Worship Leadership: (80% of your ministry time)
·       Be a worshipper! This may seem obvious but too many skip developing their personal devotional life with their Savior and move straight to the nuts and bolts of music.
·       Oversee, recruit and develop worship teams. Currently, we have two worship teams that rotate weekly.
·       Lead & mentor our worship teams to have a ministry heart that seeks God first and understands that although skill is important, the heart of any worship team isn’t to be the center of attention but the tool whereby God’s people make Him the center of their attention.
·       Plan the worship set and put together a worship order for the service in cooperation with the senior pastor.
·       Lead or oversee the majority of worship services & special worship events.
·       Appreciate a blended style of worship (We aim at 80% contemporary/ 20% hymns)
·       Oversee all supporting worship ministries i.e. power-point, sound, worship supplies, etc.
·       Upgrade, maintain, and oversee repairs for all needed worship equipment.
·       Manage the worship budget, CCLI license, etc.  appropriately.

Other Responsibilities:(20% of your ministry time)
·       Attend weekly staff meetings for communication & training.
·       Preaching occasionally is a major plus but not mandatory.
·       Meet and serve with the elders as they seek to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and lead the church appropriately.
·       Occasionally fulfill other pastoral functions i.e. visitation, counseling, administration, outreaches, etc.

Supervision/Mentoring:
·       Directly accountable to the senior pastor and indirectly to the elders.
·       Mentoring in goal setting and other leadership skills from the senior pastor.
·       Quarterly reviews of ministry goals and objectives.

This position is part time and we fully realize that most candidates will have to supplement their income some other way or be involved in the pursuit of their education or both. With such a realization, we will strive to be flexible in every way that we can in order to mesh ministry with the other realities of life.
The salary is $500 a month and has the potential to grow into a full time position over time. Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, and a modest ministry expense account.
